Who loves more mother or father?

As there would be no preference on "which" kid the parents love more, the same applies to kids loving the parents. They love both of them equally.

"Beta.. Whom do you love more.. Mom or Dad?"This is the inevitable question in every family. The child thinks for a moment and points one of them, and then the whole family gets a good laugh (especially when the child is a toddler). Generally, it doesn't matter whom the child points out, as both the parents love the child as much and the question creates a fun environment and a hearty discussion follows as why the child chose one over the other. After becoming a parent, I have come into the spotlight where my parents used to be. Though it shouldn't matter whom my little one points out, somewhere inside I want her to take my name. After-all we are all humans and there is EGO even in the best of relationships. I somehow know, whom my daughter would point out when she starts understanding. Obviously, it would be her Dad. After all, he is such a cool Dad! This is her daily routine. I am involved in doing all the boring activities like feeding (the biggest boredom), bathing, putting her to sleep, changing diapers etc. Basically, I make her do the things that she actually doesn't like or want to. And the little time with her dad is power-packed, fun-filled (and add as many synonyms). As soon as he returns from office, takes her in his arms and runs all around the house and she is all laughing and laughing and laughing. He then plays with her toys, trickles her, makes faces and she is all high pitched, happy hormones at peak. While I force-feed her with the non-tasty healthy food thats specially made for her, he feeds her with those yummy chocolates, cakes, ice-creams and pickles(just a pinch though). While I shout at her on mischief, he joins her. When I spot a harmful object in her hand, I immediately snatch it out from her making her cry, but he on the other hand does a magic and Boo! its out of her hand and she is still laughing out loud. So, its 101 percent certain she is gonna take her papa's name when asked for that million dollar question. This feeling that I am not on the first of the list makes me sad. But then, when I ponder, I love and understand my mother more now, though we used to fight and have long arguments. I now understand why she used to reprove me on some actions, why force me to do certain things, and this has increased my respect towards her a little more. With this thought, I am relieved, that one day she will understand that its good to be shouted at, its good to be reproved, its good to be 'force-fed' some times and its really good to do some boring tasks every day :). So I "hope", one-day she will love me more (or atleast I appease myself) and take my name for that million dollar question!

Do you think I am self-centered? Ohh Yes, I AM!! (Why do I even ask that? :P) P.S: This article is written on a lighter note and no hard feelings. As there would be no preference on "which" kid the parents love more, the same applies to kids loving the parents. They love both of them equally. Its just on a lighter moment we ask that question with no intentions. Personally, I love both my parents equally, so do they. So chill out and take it easy :) Disclaimer: The opinions expressed in this post are the personal views of the author. They do not necessarily reflect the views of Momspresso.com.
