Why Love Is a Vibration We Feel from Each Other

Have you found yourself spending time with people because you like the energy they’re emitting? People stay in jobs, communities, and relationships with “vibes” they deem high and positive. The same goes for love. It is a vibration that we feel within ourselves and from others. Since love is a vibration, it has its highs, lows, and frequency. Recognizing your vibration makes you aware of the love you feel for others.

Love as a Vibration

According to science, human beings, just like other creatures, radiate electromagnetic fields from the heart. When you love someone, you can radiate thoughts, feelings, and emotions at the same rhythm. When you achieve coherence in your vibrations and emit higher vibrations, you experience more benefits. It is easier to make decisions and device solutions since your discernment is clear. You also have an easier time deflecting negative attitudes and emotions such as frustration, anxiety, impatience and chronic stress that strains your reasoning. Overall, you will experience more composure when your vibrations are higher. However, it can be hard to maintain a constant flow of high vibrations. If you describe love as a combination of qualities such as attentive care, affection, kindness, gratitude, and compassion, then you experience more love and give more love when these qualities surround you. To experience and to give love in return means that you need to love and in turn, feel loved. Your vibrations remain high, and your attitude automatically lifts. When your attitude is positive, your judgment and conscience are clear. Your decisions include both you and your loved ones.

The Law of Vibration

According to the law of vibration, everything in the universe, including love, creates waves. Each wave has its frequency. When you find someone at your frequency, you can give and receive love in equal measure. Sometimes, your frequency is irreconcilable with others. You will find yourself outgrowing certain relationships because you no longer operate at their frequency, or never did at all. You may also find that your vibrations are at a higher frequency and cannot contain lower frequencies caused by self-defeating energies. Low vibrations come from feelings of anger, rage, unfairness, and fear.

Unconditional Love

A constant vibration that detaches itself from external conditions creates the environment for unconditional love. When you love unconditionally, your vibrations are not subject to preexisting conditions, limitations, or the requirements of others. Loving unconditionally is caring for all sentient beings and in return, encouraging healing and positive transformations in your society.

What does love feel like realistically?

You feel like a complete individual Both people are free to be their whole selves. Couples experience "true individuation and self-discovery" when they're truly in love, explains Carroll. In this way, you don't feel incomplete without them but rather that you're two whole people who work well as a team.

It's important to clarify that everyone experiences and expresses love in their own unique way. However, with that in mind, clinical psychologist Bobbi Wegner, Psy.D., says, "What we do know is that there is a difference between lust, attraction, and attachment, which combine to what I define as love."

The attachment stage is key for long-term love, Wegner adds.

Attachment is about feeling deeply connected to someone beyond physical lust and attraction. "It can be sexual and romantic or not (such as infant-bonding, close friendships, and loving family relationships)," she says. Licensed marriage and family therapist Linda Carroll M.S., LMFT, explains the idea of wholehearted love as the last of five stages of a relationship. A couple must go through deep interpersonal connection but also doubts, disillusionment, and ultimately a decision about whether to stick it out, all before experiencing true, wholehearted love. Notably, both experts say the idea of one soul mate seems to be a wash: "I think you can make a choice to spend your life with another person," Carroll tells mbg, but "I think there's more than one right person—I think there are many kinds of soul mates."
