Read More »3 He's Motivated He knows what he wants, and he goes after it. Rather than becoming a couch potato Friday through Sunday, he has hobbies, interests, and personal goals. He works towards those goals rather than letting them slip away. He's going to carry this goal oriented mindset through fatherhood, and encourage his kids to do the same. You want your child to have goals, right? Right. 4 He's A Fully Functioning Adult To put it frankly, he's got his sh*t together. A job, a good credit score, a sense of responsibility. This shows that he's going to be able to figure out fatherhood just fine. 5 He Helps Around The House Adding a kid into the equation only makes life messier. Twice the amount of stuff to pick up, triple the amount of daily chores, quadruple the amount of responsibility. If your guy puts in the work around the house, chances are good he's going to continue this when there's another member of your little family. Not only will this help you in the long run, it'll teach your child the importance of pitching in. 6 He Respects You If he disrespects you, then he's not the guy, period. Let alone the guy you want to have kids with. 7 He's Nursed You Back To Health Whether from a hangover or a nasty bout of the flu, a dude who can nurse you back to health is a keeper and a potentially great dad. It shows he's not afraid to get up close and personal with someone who's less than perfect and who needs help. 8 He's Patient Fixing the washing machine, playing a new game, installing an update on your phone — whatever it is, he's patient with you. Children require buckets of patience. If your man has a short fuse, it's probably not going to get any longer with an added member of the family. 9 He's In Touch With His Emotions Can he talk about things when he gets upset? Does he let you in when he's feeling low? How about reaching out for help when he needs it? A man who's in touch with his emotions and unafraid to share them is a man who'll make a good father. Why? Because parenting can be an emotional rollercoaster. Raising a child who knows how to express their emotions properly starts with parents who can do the same.
Men love women who are thoughtful, caring, loving and kind. A woman who does little things for her man for no other reason other than that she...

It's all important in a relationship, and when raising a child. Children can't always tell you what they want or need, and a good BD will be able to tune into that. 11 He's Reliable If you can count on him to behave himself at family dinners, to be there for all of your doctor's appointments, and to listen to you, then you can count on him to be there for your future child. 12 He Likes To Have Fun Whether he twirls you around in the kitchen, practices his comedy routine and awful dad-jokes on you, or takes you to putt-putt on a whim, he's got a good sense of a humor, and likes to have fun. Because raising a child is tough, and you're going to need plenty of humor and fun to get you through it.
