The butterflies you get in your stomach when you newly enter a relationship are so real! The initial phase is filled with mystery, excitement, and even apprehensions, as you start on a journey of discovering a different part of you and your partner. But love, love can only be defined in so many ways. Now, saying “I love you” can be the easiest and of course the most direct way of spilling your emotions. But there’s something about body language that makes expressing your sentiments stand out. Here are 5 body language signs to know if someone has fallen in love with you:

1. Protective gestures

Have you ever used public transport to travel with someone? And have you noticed their hands on your shoulders to protect you from the crowd? Or the way they reach out for your hand while crossing roads? If your answer is yes, then there’s a high possibility of someone being in love with you. Because, you tend to protect and care for the ones you love.

2. Closeness

If someone is in love with you, they’ll try to be as physically close as possible to you. They might want to sit close to you, lean in when they talk, or place their things near you so that they can be around you more often. The important thing is, you should feel comfortable in their presence.

3. Touch

You’d only want to touch people you know, like hugging your family members, or patting your friends. When it comes to strangers, it gets tricky. Sometimes, you have acquaintances giving you half-hugs, and that might still feel okay. So if someone you don’t interact with often tries to touch you or brush past you, there can be two things. It can be a good kind of touch, when they’re in love with you, or a bad touch if they’re creepy and have misleading intentions.

4. Attention

You might not be an attention-seeking person, but who doesn’t want people to be attentive? It’s a good sign when someone focuses on what you say and not get distracted by other things. Michelle Fraley, a relationship coach points out how love is accompanied with a sort of “tunnel vision,” because everything is so enthralling. Plus, it’s a way of showing respect, she feels.

5. Eye contact

There’s a reason why people say someone’s eyes are so “deep” and how there’s a world that they encompass. Eyes probably give away more than anything else, so much so that there can be an entire conversation that can be held by eye contact. If someone looks at you for seconds at a stretch, chances are they’ve fallen for you. Click on Deccan Chronicle Lifestyle for all the latest and viral news on health and wellbeing. "Thank you"

It's easy to overlook the small gestures, like when he swaps out his toothbrush head for yours or straightens up the apartment even if you're not having friends over. Instead of issuing a passive aggressive, "it's about time!" thank him. "Catch him doing something right every day," says says Lisa L. Payne, life transitions coach and author of What If They Knew: Secrets of an Impressive Woman. "Whether it's that he made your coffee just the way you like it, or holds the door for you, tell him how much you appreciate his efforts and, above all, be specific about what he did and how it made you feel. That way, he'll know exactly what he's done well, and he'll do it more often."
