In part, seeking God is a matter of paying attention. We find this nuance in the translation of Psalm 105:4 found in The Message: “Keep your eyes open for GOD, watch for his works; be alert for signs of his presence.” If we're seeking God, then we are watching for him and his work each day as we go about our business.

Read More »Loving God, I pray that you will comfort me in my suffering, lend skill to the hands of my healers, and bless the means used for my cure. In times of emotional, mental, or physical hardship, it's easy to feel hopeless and like things will never get better. Sometimes, untangling yourself from these spiraling thoughts can be a confusing and difficult process. But it is important to remember that you are not alone and there are steps you can take to heal and find peace and strength once again. One way to approach this process is to read or say aloud a healing prayer. Whether the obstacle you are facing relates to your health, work, family, relationship, or something else, prayer can provide comfort during the healing process. Reading or reciting these prayers to yourself or a loved one won't be the solution to the problem you are currently up against. You may need to pursue other paths such as speaking to a professional to address the underlying problem. Recovery looks different for everyone, but healing prayers can provide comfort in a time when you need it most. The Covid-19 pandemic is one ongoing hardship that has impacted most everyone's mental and emotional wellbeing, especially when it comes to grief, loss, and pain. Healing words and prayers for the sick can offer strength and help alleviate some of the loneliness and isolation that many have felt (and continue to feel) throughout the pandemic. If you have a friend or family member who is going through a hardship, you can also share these healing prayers with them. Keeping them in your thoughts and prayers can bring them peace, just as reading prayers for healing can give you strength.
