Weddings are a time for making memories, and not just for the bride! Being a bridesmaid in your friend’s wedding can be one of the best times of your life. As the big day approaches, it’s easy to get caught up in all of the small details and stresses. Here are five things bridesmaids can do the night before the wedding to have fun and make memories together:

Go Out on The Town

Many wedding parties have the rehearsal dinner the evening before the wedding, so you may all be dressed up, hair and makeup done, and ready for some fun! Going out for drinks or dessert with just the girls is a great way to spend some quality time together before the wedding ceremony. However, you want to feel your best on the big day, so keep the alcohol to a limit in an attempt to get a good night’s sleep. Plus, you'll want to save as much energy as possible for the dance floor at the wedding reception!

Have a Sleepover

Having a sleepover together is a must! Many brides say that after the wedding, they hardly ever have sleepovers with their closest friends anymore. The night before the wedding is your “one last chance” to be bachelorettes and have a sleepover, just like you did in high school! Reminiscing on all of the past memories of your friendships and future hopes and dreams as a married woman is a memory that you don’t want to miss. Bring your cozy pajamas, popcorn, plan some sleepover games, watch a romantic movie, and make it fun!

Pamper Yourselves

The wedding day will be busy, so be sure to take some time to relax the night before. You can incorporate face masks, foot spas, or even massages! Also, you can take some time off of getting ready the next day by waxing or painting each other’s nails. Speaking of the big day, be sure to spend a little time the night before getting the bridal suite set up for the wedding morning. Whether this is making sure that the bride has all that she needs and is packed for her honeymoon, checking on last-minute details with the venue or maid-of-honor speeches and toasts, or that all of your dresses are hung up, wrinkle-free, and ready to go, you will appreciate that you took the extra time before the stress of the wedding day kicks in.

Eat, and Eat Well!

Consider cooking a healthy meal or evening snack together (or ordering one)! While you want to be able to enjoy yourself during this time of celebration, you also want to make sure that you're not putting foods into your body that will make you feel bad. What you eat the night before the wedding can affect your skin, bloating, and energy levels. It is important to eat a substantial, healthy meal that will keep you full and also help you all feel your best on the big day. Fortunately, this can be fun! Be sure to enjoy the time cooking or eating together as bridesmaids and close friends.

Also, here’s a few more reminders…

While you’re having fun, be sure to remember these things, too!

Get a Good Night’s Sleep (or, at least, try to). While the pre-wedding excitement and nerves might mean you have far too many thoughts running through your mind to even consider going to sleep, there are so many reasons to make this a priority! Be sure to set a bedtime where you can get quality rest so your fully charged the following morning - stick to your schedule! Your wedding day is going to be a long day - from getting ready in the morning, to the ceremony, reception, and well into the evening, you are all going to be glad you got lots of sleep the night before. Oh, and don’t forget to set your alarms! Stay Hydrated. As the bride and bridesmaids, you may feel nervous or excited on the morning of the big day. However, it is important to have a plan to take care of yourselves! Plan ahead to wake up and eat a good, balanced breakfast. Also, keep healthy snacks and plenty of water around so you can stay happy and hydrated throughout the day. Use the restroom before you put on your dresses. Take a bathroom break right before you put on your dresses, and hopefully, you'll be good to go until you get to the reception! This is especially important for the bride and her wedding gown. Remember the little things. Make a list of the “small” things you need to remember, such as jewelry, shoes, handwritten letters, wedding toasts, etc. It’s the little things that are often forgotten! Make sure your wedding planner, maid of honor, or bridesmaids know what is on your wedding day checklist and can keep these small details on their mind, as well. Whether it is making sure the flower girls are all prepped or the makeup artist and wedding photographer know the location of the bridal suite, these are all little tasks your bridal party can help you complete so don’t be afraid to delegate!
