What color is hardest to see underwater?

The hardest colors to distinguish are the light blue and white. Darker colors are more visible on the light pool bottom, but they can often be confused with leaves, dirt, or shadows and you should try to avoid swim suits with lots of dark colors as well. The clear winners are the neon colors pink and orange.

Have you ever thought about choosing a swim suit based on color?

Not the color you or your child like best, but rather the color that is most easily visible underneath the water. Why would you even consider choosing a swim suit this way? Well, the answer is that not all swim suit colors look the same under water. When your child goes under water to play or if they should have an involuntary submersion incident; lifeguards and parents want to be able to quickly identify any person on the bottom of the pool clearly and then respond accordingly. The below graphic indicates a variety of colors used on swim suits and how they are likely to appear under water. The pool bottom used in the pictures is a light color, like both the RAC’s indoor and outdoor pools.

The colors shown above the photos are the swim suit colors.

The first picture below the color shows what a suit of that color looks like while under water that is relatively flat or with limited water distortion. The picture immediately below that is the same color suit but with water disturbance, like when children are splashing and playing. Take note of how each color, other than the white and light blue, are fairly easy to see while the water is relatively flat. You will notice that many of those colors are much harder to see under water when there is surface agitation. The hardest colors to distinguish are the light blue and white. Darker colors are more visible on the light pool bottom, but they can often be confused with leaves, dirt, or shadows and you should try to avoid swim suits with lots of dark colors as well. The clear winners are the neon colors pink and orange. So, next time you go to buy a swim suit, think bright colors for better visibility!

Which country has Bible on its flag?

the Dominican Republic What you probably didn't know is that the Dominican Republic is the only country in the world to have an image of the Holy Bible on its national flag. Yes, it's true! When we think of the Dominican Republic, we think about their endless weather of sunshine and stunning beaches! What you probably didn’t know is that the Dominican Republic is the only country in the world to have an image of the Holy Bible on its national flag. Yes, it’s true! The national flag is formatted blue-red-blue-red with a white central cross. When used for official purposes, it includes the coat of arms. A Dominican revolutionary known as La Trinitaria highlighted their Christian heritage by placing a white cross on the background of the blue-red flag. This revolution started in February 27, 1844, and the flag designed by Juan Pablo Duarte, was lifted the next day. The independence movement prompted a constitution to be formed for the Dominican Republic and this established the official flag on November 6, 1844. The order of the colors was re-established so that the blue and red colours would alternate, with the white cross between them. The coat of arms in the centre of the flag incorporates the national flag, a Bible and a cross. There’s also branches of laurel and palm, the name of the country, and the motto “Dios, patria, libertad” (“God, fatherland, liberty”). With some minor artistic changes, the flag has continued in use to the present day. With 200 countries in the world and the Dominican Republic being the only country that has a flag with the image of a bible, is impressive! This is a minor fun fact for some, but this is something I’ll always remember about the D.R., besides it’s breathtaking scenery and weather, of course! 😉
