You will have to eventually talk about the relationship and how both of you can learn from the past mistakes and create a healthy relationship.

And if that happened with you, it may be for the best to give up on your ex and focus on healing from the breakup. They probably left you because something was missing, or something was broken in the relationship. And you need to figure out what that was. And you need to figure out if you can fix that and have a healthy relationship with your ex in the future. In a lot of cases, that something is communication. And if you were not communicating with your partner in a way that made them feel understood and accepted, then that’s probably why this breakup happened.
