“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ−by grace you have been saved.” – Ephesians 2:4-5 We all hear about how much God loves us. It has been said to us since we were little and have sung countless songs that talk about God’s love. However, sometimes it is still hard for us to really believe it and wrap our heads around the fact. But our inability to comprehend God’s love doesn’t mean that it isn’t true. Just because something may not feel true, doesn’t mean it isn’t. All throughout the Bible are verses telling us how much God loves us. In fact, the Bible is His love letter to us basically. Each page is filled with stories of His passion and how He sees us. Here are a few verses that describe how God sees His children.

We Are Precious and Honored in His Eyes

In Isaiah 43:4, it says, “Since you are precious and honored in my sight and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life.” In God’s eyes, we are precious and honored. He loves us so much that he would exchange nations for our life.

We Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Psalm 139:13-14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Isn’t that so cool? God knew us before we were even born. He took the time to design what we looked like, who we would be, our passions and talents. It’s mindboggling just thinking about it.

We Are Made New in Him

2 Corinthians 5:17 states, “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!” When we dedicate our lives to Christ, we are made new in Him. Our slates are wiped clean and any mistakes that we have made that we think are unforgivable, are forgiven by Him. We are as pure as snow.

He Takes Delight in Us

Zephaniah 3:17 says, “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Do you hear that? He loves us. He enjoys spending time with us and takes delight in everything we do. Those passions He has put in our hearts are from Him and He loves watching us live them out. What is a flaky date?

Flaking on a date refers to either cancelling on the other person last minute or walking out midway through. So many of us have done it. In fact, 4.2 million Aussies have admitted to flaking on a date (guilty).

If you’ve ever frequented the dating scene like myself, then you’re probably guilty of ‘flaking’ once or twice, or maybe even ten times (no judgement here). Flaking on a date refers to either cancelling on the other person last minute or walking out midway through. So many of us have done it. In fact, 4.2 million Aussies have admitted to flaking on a date (guilty). On top of that, more than one in three Aussies admit they have flaked because they were feeling self-conscious about their own appearance (also guilty). Dating should be fun and exciting and even if we don’t find a good match, we should at least leave with a great story for the girls. I have flaked out on a date more times than I’d like to admit. One time I cancelled on a guy last minute because he was initially being flaky to me. He refused to commit to a date and time which I find infuriating. Finally, he asked me out on the same day.

So I turned the flaking tables on him.
