Are there times you feel like God is trying to tell you something? If He’s genuinely trying to tell you anything, what are the telltale signs? As followers of Christ, we are all called to live a life of service to the Lord and our fellow man; we are asked to live a life of holiness. However, life and our sins may cause us to stray from His path and lose the ability to listen to His voice. Your calling to follow God is more essential than everything else you can think of. To live the life the Almighty Father has planned for us, we must be able to detect the indications that He is trying to tell us something. The Holy Spirit may be attempting to reach you to nudge you back on the right course.

7 Clear Signs God Is Trying To Tell You Something

It’s essential to take a few minutes each day to shut out the noise and listen to God’s voice. He is attempting to tell you something, and these are the seven signals to confirm that He is trying to communicate:

1. You’re Provided With Responses That You Were Unaware Of

When we pray, God answers questions we didn’t realize we had. It is His power that constantly provides for us. Let’s use the Bible as an example. How frequently do you do Bible reading? Unsure of the purpose of the lines calling to you? When this happens, ask God what these scriptures mean. Some individuals read the Bible and question at the end which passages stuck out most. If you’re into the reading but nothing stands out, maybe those passages aren’t calling you. That’s alright. Don’t conceive of the Bible as fiction. This means the Bible is your daily guide.

2. You Feel Lost

The Bible says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). Christians are called to live by God’s law and serve Him and their neighbors. In life and through our own sins, we go off God’s course. But nothing is more essential than His call on your life, remarkably to follow Him. To live the life the Lord desires for us, we must know the signals He’s sending us and how to interpret them. God’s Word outlines a general call to everyone, a compelling call to His people, and a technical call to a specific profession. Jesus may be attempting to contact you to guide you spiritually. Jesus is calling you. To follow Him, take up your cross.

3. You Desire To Extend Help To Others

It doesn’t even have to be a desire to minister. Sometimes God tells you to help others because you feel led. This is the subject of Romans 7:4: “Now you belong to Him… so that you might be useful in service to God.” You may show the Father’s love and reflect Christ’s presence through acts of kindness and giving back. No matter your employment or career, you’re called to Christian service. Pick up your cross if you are compelled to accomplish something larger than yourself without needing compensation. When you utilize your God-given skills to benefit others, you fulfill what God has called you to do.

4. Your Relationships Start To Show You Things

Our relationship here on earth conveys God’s message. Be receptive to what spiritual people say if you’ve slipped off the course with God. By listening to them, you will realize that these people validate you. God puts people in your life so you may discover your full potential and He may communicate something important through them. Beware of relationships that lead you astray from God. Anyone who separates you from God is bad company. We can see God’s purpose for our lives when we eliminate these folks. Be present for unexpected connections. God may put these individuals in your life to reveal His direction.

5. You Suddenly Feel A Strong Commitment To A Cause

Sometimes God speaks in ways we never expected. Sometimes He tries to attract your attention by telling you you have a higher calling. It may mean a career change or a ministry. Mark 10:45 says, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve.” This means we should live lives of service. God is attempting to attract your attention if your career doesn’t reflect this and you feel you’re missing something. By employing our strengths and talents in our employment, many find what feels right and develop a desire to do more.

6. You Become Aware Of The Effectiveness Of Prayer

You may see God reveal his power at work if your prayers are being answered. God is trying to tell you something now. In Jeremiah 33:3[1], God says, “Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” God desires a personal connection with us, and prayer is the most excellent way to communicate. Our Lord wants us to pray to Him so He can answer them. Never doubt the power of prayer. This helps us get closer to God. Even with hectic schedules, we can make time to continue to improve our relationship with God. Regular prayer lets us talk to God when we’re in a bad place and don’t know where to turn.

7. You Become More Interested In Church

If you’ve gone spiritually off course, you may not have gone to church in a while, and if you have, you may experience detachment from the service and message. But if you’ve made your course back to church and a passage, song, or part of the pastor’s speech captures your attention, it’s an indication that God is calling you to listen. Don’t assume it’s random. The Holy Spirit works in the Lord’s temple and has an important message for you. Accept whatever it is and nice things, and watch what they open up for your life. Also, don’t be terrified of the messages’ contents.

How Can We Tell If Something Is Not From God?

You should read several practices and Scripture passages and keep them in mind as you develop your discernment approach. Here are some of them: Put on your entire armor when you begin each day, regardless of whether you are in a moment of good or evil testing (Ephesians 6:10-18). Our best attack and defense are comprised of our whole armor and prayer. 1 John 4:1 is telling us, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Something should be avoided if it contradicts the Bible. There is a strong possibility that Jesus was thinking about Deuteronomy 13:1-4 when he stated, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” Do not listen to your emotions alone. As Christians, we are called to live according to God’s word in His Bible. If you’re being tempted to believe a falsehood in your relationships, remember what the Apostle Paul said: “No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”

Many believe the Lord will not give us anything we can’t bear. That is not the case. It is difficult for us to take the loss of a spouse or a kid, and we are not to be the ones to “manage” these things. God wants us to bring everything to Him, including our ability to differentiate between what is from Him and what is not. The Word of God always takes precedence over what we can see and feel (feelings) . With your sanctification (see John 17:19; 1 Corinthians 3:18; Psalm 25:5), God will guide you into all truth and give you insight into His will (Ephesians 5:17).

What To Do When You Feel God Is Telling You Something?

The Holy Father has a message for you; listening to His voice is essential! Whether God is trying to tell you something or not, be sure to read the Bible for any relevant passages.

1. Look For God’s Desire In Scripture

The Holy Father has a message for you, and listening to His voice is important! No matter what you think, He wants to tell you, be sure to read the Bible for any applicable passages.

2. Reach Out To A Trusted Confidant

Avoid relying on your judgment or understanding when the Lord tells you to do anything. As social creatures, we desire to discuss our concerns and inquiries. Do your due diligence before telling others what God is teaching you to others.

3. Write And Distribute God’s Prayer Requests

Because it shows that we respect His message, God invites us to come back to Him with questions and thoughts of our own. Reveal what God has taught you in your soul during quiet time with the Lord. To better understand the message, go to where you most often pray to God, preferably away from people, and scribble down any questions or requests you have for God.

Conclusion

Even though we desire to hear from God, it may be challenging to identify the messages that may be right in front of us as Christians. We may even be eager to learn and handle His message at times. As a result, we seek to understand and obey God’s will for our lives. So that we may make the wisest choices, we want to know God’s ultimate plan for our lives and the course Jesus is leading us along. God wants us to love him and others, and we are to obey Him and care for others. Without His voice, these indicators may disclose important information about what He wants you to know.
