Indeed, research suggests that fathering daughters changes men's gender attitudes but there is little evidence of change in mothers' attitudes. Among previously-childless men, the birth of a daughter causes a larger shift toward more progressive gender ideology than does the birth of a son (Shafer and Malhotra 2011).
A shocking 91% of the respondents of our survey were stressed at one point or the other in their life. Out of which, we found that the most...

Read More »Research suggests that the birth of a daughter causes men to adopt more progressive gender ideology and to increase support of women's rights. This post summarizes the evidence that fathering a daughter changes men's attitudes and considers the causes of this effect. In the modern United States, parents—especially fathers—demonstrate a strong preference for sons (Dahl and Moretti 2008). Couples with sons are more likely to marry and are less likely to divorce if married; fathers spend more time with sons than with daughters (Dahl and Moretti 2008; Raley and Bianchi 2006). In addition, couples are more likely to have an additional child if their first-born child is female (Dahl and Moretti 2008). However, despite a clear preference for sons, few American parents control the gender of their child(ren) (e.g., through sex-selective abortion or assisted reproductive technologies). Therefore, the gender of any given child can be seen as exogenous to the couple and approximately half of children born in the United States are girls.

Read More »Women stated that their favorite part of the male physique was their chest at 24%. This was closely followed by hair 22% and arms at 19%. For the ab crowd, 13% prefer defined upper abs and 9% prefer the v-cut. Eyes, face, and legs came in at 3%, 2%, and 1%, respectively.
Dr. Felix's team took a survey for the most attractive body parts of men and women and here's what they found: Men cited women's faces as being their most attractive attribute by 46%. In second place, women's butts came in at 18% followed by hair at 11%. Legs, breasts, eyes, and others composed the remaining 26%. While I'm not surprised faces came in first, I am surprised hair ranked higher than legs, breasts, and eyes. Age also plays a factor in these results. The team found that as men age; their preference for butts and eyes decrease, their preference for breasts and legs remains static, and their preference for a pretty face increases.
